speed drills...

another night of speed drills on the trainer... getting through my last week of this base period, one more night at the gym, one more night at the gym, then hopefully a couple of rides this weekend if the weather co-operates. my body is feeling good, a little bit fatigued, but that's probably from a couple of late nights working on websites. i'm looking forward to my rest week next week and reminding myself that this work will pay off in the summer.

between training and trying to eat better, i've dropped a little over 20 pounds from the beginning of the year... if nothing else carrying 20 pounds less weight up the hills should help my riding this summer. the weight loss has slowed a bit now, but with the amount of training going up it's not good to be losing a lot of weight from here on in.

another long road ride on sunday if the weather allows... 60+ miles starting from pierce mill in rock creek park... if anyone is interested in coming along, get in touch so we'll know who to wait for... the ride is pretty casual, so everyone can ride their own pace with some stops to regroup.

trying to get an early night tonight and get a good nights sleep...

If the weather is decent. Dry and above 35, i'm in. I don't want to take chances since i'm just getting over the sicknessesssess.

it'd be cool to have you out on the ride, but don't go doing anything stupid and getting sick again... accuweather has the forecast for saturday and sunday as cool and partly cloudy, highs in the mid 40s both days.

some of the mileage on the ride is optional, so if you're not up for the whole ride you can shortcut and regroup in a couple of place.

looks like the rain might blow through tommorow...

Losing 20 lbs in a couple of months is simply amazing. I don't know if I'll even be able to keep up with you after all this training you're doing! Good job.

i just hope that i can keep this weight off with the amount of beer in the house right now... there are 2 cases of a fat tire clone in the kitchen, next to a batch of a double IPA that'll be ready to bottle in a couple of weeks. there's a batch of helles lager in the basement that'll be bottled tommorow and ready in 2 weeks, and a honey wheat boiling away on the stove...

plus a sixer of a very tasty marzen from clipper city brewery in the fridge...

oh, and i don't think you're at much risk of me being able to catch you.
